Textual Analysis of Doctor Who Trailer

Setting

Green sky, bright sun 
Vibrant colour - Colour palette - Suggets aliens/new planet - time of day - heading into danger - darkness. 



Sandy beach - Shows different locations throughout the programme and could get your attention - coode to say its the end. 











Houses - Create a home feeling and environment - audience can relate to it.


Stones and rocks - Shows a different type of place to what the audience would usually see. Creates mystery of why hes there.



Costumes

Long coat throughout -  Could show authority and main character in the programme.


Make-up
Not too much to be seen in trailer

Props


Old cars – 70s - Could potentially show traveling back in time to an old time frame.


Horses - Could show a quick get away from potential danger or trying to get to a locations in a quick amount of time.


Lighting & colour

Dark/ pitch black - Could suggest danger as well as the worried look on his face.


Lights - blue yellow orange - shows darkness as well - minimal light. 

  Facial expressions

Gasping/scared + shows being out of breath - Could make the audience question whats happened.

Close ended questions (Yes/No). Common example is the Likert Scale - Responses from strongly agree to strongly disagree.
